Jazzmyn Barbosa is a recent MFA graduate from Michigan State University with an emphasis in Printmaking. Currently she works at Art Gym as a Member Services staff member who loves to screen print and make zines in her free time.
Printmaking is a radical act. Through printmaking I question hierarchical ideas of value within participatory and interactive contexts. More specifically, my work examines the relationship between print media to larger societal structures, such as the Internet and Capitalism. Through collage, zine making, screen printing and digital processes, I collect and re-contextualize digital and ‘real’ images that inundate my daily life.
