Intaglio (Etching) & Relief

Intaglio (Etching) and Relief

Step into our main printmaking haven and unleash your artistic vision using one of the hand-operated or motorized intaglio presses. This heavy-duty equipment offers a canvas for various styles like woodcut, linocut, engraving, etching (copperplate), Solarplate™, drypoint, monoprint, and collagraph. Our specialized etching room, complete with horizontal ferric chloride baths and a “shaker” rosin aquatint box, is for artists seeking the beauty of copperplate etching. No matter which tool you use, artists must bring their ink and paper to get the desired results.

Please note that Art Gym is not equipped with nitric acid for etching zinc plates.

And, with safety as a main priority, members are not permitted to bring acids, mordants, or corrosives.
