Open August 25-September 18. Reception on September 9.
Art Gym Gallery in partnership with the Colorado Metalsmithing Association (CoMA) presents The Colorado Element, an exhibition of Colorado Metalsmith Artists from around the state. Colorado is a state with rich geological and elemental features which has been explored in multiple ways by artists for many years. The works in this exhibition demonstrate the quality, craftsmanship, and odes celebrating the unique and inspiring state of Colorado. Please join us for a reception on Friday, September 9 from 6-9PM.
This exhibition will be open in conjunction with the 2022 Denver Gem & Mineral Show and the HardRock Summit 2022, also taking place in Denver, Colorado. The coming of so many geology-centered events is a reminder that the state of Colorado is home to rich geological and elemental features, many of which have been explored in multiple ways by artists of multiple mediums for many years. Works at this show are required to have been made with at least 50% metal to be considered, and the Art Gym/CoMA partners welcomed metalsmith artists of all levels. The Art Gym gallery will be hosting the following artists’ work for this show:
Tyler Anderson, Reno Carollo, Marisa Cawthorne, Stephanie Dimmer, Chapin Dimond, Kim Harrell, Crystal Hinds, Jae Mancarella, Dhana Mariah, Christine Nichols & Cheyenne Hughes, Deb Rosenbaum, and Pamela Webb
