“I  would say most people have a character or voice in their heads.  Whether you call it your conscience, your god or guardian angel we as humans feel like someone or something is in it with us. My current work loosely explores the personification of these ideas.  I  choose to work with pencil and paper, because I’m able to create a smooth stonelike image inspired by the giant sculptures of italy.  Although many were originally painted and quite colorful the current state delivers a softened power that my own drawings have adopted. The figures I  draw are large and graceful with untroubled expressions on their faces.  Their features are magnified and out of proportion in order to create an almost, but not quite human image.”

“I’m an artist and furniture maker out of Denver.  I find solace in 3-D pieces that enhance the home.  From furniture to small home items to sculpture, I’m drawn to wood as a medium, though happily engage in many other materials. I’m working on my own personal expansion in one of the oldest and most established traditions, woodworking.”
