Carve out time to weave ordinary fabrics into extraordinary works of art in our upcoming two-day workshop “Relief Printing on Fabric: Chine Collé but with Fabric!” Chine Collé is a printmaking technique where paper is bonded to a surface during printing. In this creative twist, we’re swapping paper for fabric to add pops of color and rich textures to your prints. First, you’ll learn how to design and carve an image into a linoleum block, chipping away space where your fabric will be inlaid. On day two, you’ll press fabric into the carved sections, and pull a one-of-a-kind print. All tools and materials are provided for both beginners and experienced artists looking to create a lasting impression.
Tools and supplies provided. Blocks measure: 8×10″. Taught by printmaker and educator Laura Grossett.
