Art Gym is excited to show Photographic Sculptures, by Lauri R. Dunn in the Common Space Gallery with an opening reception March 19 from 5 – 8PM.

In Photographic Sculptures, photographer Lauri R. Dunn will exhibit three-dimensional wall pieces made from photos of insects. Each piece begins with photographing a rehydrated insect, capturing the intricate patterns of its wings and body. Dunn then prints multiples of the images to fold into three-dimensional shapes, which are built into tessellation patterns. The works highlight the mathematical qualities in all things. In her artist statement, Dunn explains “My work is inspired by the natural world, but I bring my love of the urban environment to each piece with strong contrast, geometric forms, and metallic resin coating.”
