Enhance your artwork with a frame designed for the piece. The workshop is focused on taking old picture frames and learning how to refurbish them to complement your artwork. The workshop will start with the structural integrity of the frame and then simple step-by-step procedures for saving an old finish, stripping a wood finish, working with metal gold leaf and when to add color. From prepping to polishing, join our one-day beginner workshop, New Life for Old Frames.
Leon Loughridge owned and operated Dry Creek Gold Leaf for over twenty years. DCGoldLeaf created high-end custom designed, carved, and gilded pictures frames for collectors, galleries, and museums throughout the Rocky Mountain states. Many of the hand crafted frames are on display at the Denver Art Museum, Clifford Still Museum, and Kirkland Museum of Decorative Art.
Workshop meets in the Art Gym Classroom.
