Sometimes we dream of being isolated in a far off piece of paradise away from the toil of what’s in front of us with nothing but the songs in our head for company.

These sculptures and works on paper bring together a collection of forms inspired by representations of paradise within a domestic space. These works are composed with images of the exotic landscape found in everyday items: product ads, printed catalogs, images viewed through a screen and the artifacts of memory we surround ourselves with in our homes. Elements of collage are found throughout the exhibition in works on paper which combine screenprinting with image transfers and found photography as well as the fabricated sculptures. Comprised of artworks created between 2020 and 2023, this exhibition reimagines the themes of escapism, daydreaming and isolation.

B. 1984, Newark Valley, NY. Kevin Goodrich is an interdisciplinary artist working in collage, printmaking, and sculpture. He received his Master of Fine Arts at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2013. He is currently an Associate Professor at Cornish College of the Arts. He lives and works in Seattle, Washington.
