“This show is a blend of abstract pieces, inspired by music that I’ve come to love, and because of my dad, it has become a big part of my life. My dad used to DJ, and he raised me listening to the music he would mix on his turntables. I’ve always grown up hearing about how we had turntables instead of a dining table when I was a baby, and being so close to that kind of music growing up makes me feel like it is woven into every fiber of my being. I’ve always felt that the music we both love is special, and nothing feels more special than to have both of our passions come together to make one masterpiece. Each art piece is accompanied by the music that inspired it, to allow the viewers to experience the trancing sensation of the songs that drove me to choose each color, each texture, and visual representation, with intention. Enjoy the scenery and the sounds, and by all means, dance till the sun comes up.”

Ivy is a young, Colorado-born artist who has been passionate about art and music since she was small. Growing up she displayed her creativity in her classes, home life, and by volunteering her father’s carpenter skills for the school play’s set design. She was determined to make art a forever thing in her life, so she attended Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design for Art Education to forward her love of art to the younger generation. However due to Covid-19, school was placed on hold, and she would have to think about what other dreams to chase. After years of saying moving to new york would be something she would do eventually, Ivy finally put it on the calendar. She put in the time, selling her art on Etsy and her website, doing commissioned wall murals for her family, and working as many hours to make it happen. Working two jobs to save up doesn’t allow much time to make artwork, but despite the busy schedule, she has been able to create an exciting new exhibition that exemplifies her love for family, music, and art.
