Tall, narrow panels were his canvas, and a solo show was his plan. But the COVID quarantine changed everything for Denver-based muralist and abstract artist Tom Ward. With global isolation closing studios and canceling exhibitions, Ward turned to fellow artists and pitched a creative collaboration that would get them through the uncertain times. Building on the original ten artistic panels, the ongoing collaborative installation now features more than 24 artists, both locally and internationally. Viewers will experience an expressive array of bold, unique, and sometimes surprising uses of the panels. Yet the continuity of the installation inspires an artistic ecosystem that celebrates the resilience that defied the pandemic times. Unified in format, diversified in creativity, Working Separate Together opens on July 24th from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Art Gym.
