At 80 years young, with a lifetime of inspiration to draw from, artist P.D. Newman showcases the timeless nature of imagination in the upcoming exhibition Take a Walk. Featuring figurative works from free-association doodles in his sketchbook, Newman explains, “The idea of Take a Walk is to take a walk through my mind. Few people have seen this side of my work, and I hope they smile when they do.” Shapes and figures emerge from ink blots like hidden treasures waiting to be discovered. Intentional and spontaneous, Newman lets his pencil take him on an adventure and invites viewers along for the ride.  Experience how decades of artistry masterfully blend with modern techniques at the opening reception of Take a Walk on April 24th from 6 – 9 PM in the Leyden Jar.
