Embodied Pathways is an immersive, interactive and improvisational one-woman dance theatre salon enacted by April (Axé) Charmaine. The performance will be followed by a “Get Free” ecstatic dance movement for everybody to enjoy dancing! This show represents the uncharted and unconventional pathways the artist has discovered by becoming nomadic and traveling with the wind. It is an exploration of finding home in the body no matter where you are. As an interdisciplinary artist, Axé, will embody multiple styles of movement with a sense of form and freedom, exploring classical, contemporary, cross-cultural and conscious forms of dance in an intimate space.
Shoes cannot be worn in the performance space, so plan on removing your shoes, or we will have booties as an option.
This performance is the introduction for the One Sol Dance Festival, which will take place in multiple venues August 7-11, 2019 in Denver, Colorado USA. There is a track for emerging dance artists (teen/YA), established artists, and one for everyday people who want to experience dance in a safe and supported environment. The goal of this festival is to encourage people to push past their personal limitations, create cutting edge works, and instill a sense of collaboration vs competition in the dance world.
