Join us on August 16 at 5PM for a special artist demonstration with Bryan Dahlberg and Jon Mason, whose exhibitions are on view currently in the Common Space Gallery.

Bryan Dahlberg – Almost since its invention, photography has been in a historical trap of literal representationalism. I enjoy extending it into a more abstracted personal expression by using modern non-toxic materials combined with the traditional printmaking processes of etching and relief printing. I’ll explain my own methods, using examples of images, inkjet films and photopolymer plates.

Jon Mason – I love the process of printing and treat the Collagraph / Monotype as my little color and compositional playground. I am not interested in editioning these days just how I can adapt my inks, my plates and multiple pulls to make a print that feels spontaneous and a little magical when put out for folks to see. Much in the way I feel when the paper is peeled back and I pull it off the press. I’ll explain my puzzle plates, inking methods and use of stencils.
