An introductory course in relief printmaking with printmaker Kim Rivera. This six-week course will be a guided class teaching carving and printing techniques used in a variety of relief processes. Students will become familiar with the Art Gym print studio, manual and motorized presses, and the various papers and tools used by beginner and professional printmakers. Course participants will practice drawing and carving images onto linoleum, and printing completed blocks.
Participants completing the course will receive 1/2 off their first month of membership if they join Art Gym, current members will receive 1/2 off their next month of membership.

Kim Rivera is a printmaker from Colorado. She graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder BA in Psychology and Art Practices with a printmaking emphasis. As an artist, Kim desires to create relational art, tell stories, and challenge the viewer to be present with the work before them. She was a Create Award Resident at Art Gym Denver from 2021-2022, has participated in local and national group exhibitions, and volunteers with Denver’s Month of Printmaking.
