An introductory workshop into black ink linoleum relief printmaking with printmaker Kim Rivera. This workshop will be a guided class teaching carving and printing techniques for one colored relief printing. The class will follow a four-week plan overviewing relief printing, draw and carve images onto linoleum, and printing completed blocks. Each participant will leave the workshop with an editioned print and participate in a print exchange. All materials will be provided.
Kim Rivera is a printmaker from Colorado. She graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2018 with a BA in Psychology and Art Practices with a printmaking emphasis. As an artist, Kim desires to create relational art, tell a story, and challenge the viewer to be present with the work before them. She was a Create Award Resident at the Art Gym Denver from 2021-2022 and has had work in group exhibitions both locally and nationally.
