Art Gym Gallery is so excited to show their Printmaking Member Exhibit, a selection of prints by 25 different Art Gym members. The variety of printmakers at Art Gym is robust, and the print media on view correlates to that variety. Join us for an opening reception on February 20 from 5-8PM.
The motivation for the works on display in the Art Gym Printmaking Member Exhibit range from a need to explore specific print processes to rebuilding personal relationships, and everything in between. The following are three excerpts from artist statements demonstrating the scope of ideas exhibited:
“This etching is not only an observation of historical preservation; it is a slow poem to a garden, a home, a woman and her family.” – Virginia Diaz Saiki
“By manipulating marks, patterns and colors, I experiment and extend an idea from one pull of a print to the next.” – Jon Mason
“My goal as an artist is to create artworks that are personal and which also express a sense of social responsibility.” – Tony Ortega
