(Denver – January 23, 2016) Art Gym Denver is opening SELFIE, an exhibition exploring the idea of self-portraiture in the era of selfies. The exhibiting artists all come from diverse backgrounds and are exploring self-portraiture in unique ways and media: photography, print, video installation, sculpture and mixed media.
Exhibiting artists are Melanie Bindon, Sharon Brown, Jerry De La Cruz, Margaretta Gilboy, Galina Kurlat, Rik Sargent, Peter Stevinson, William Stoehr and Arabella Tattershall.
Exhibition Dates: February 18th, 2016 – March 26, 2016

2.18.16, 5 – 8pm: Opening reception with many of the artists present. Light refreshment and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
2.27.16, 3-5 pm: Artist Talk with Sharon Brown titled “Self-Portraits: the Long View” on Feb 27th at 3 to 5; artist, co-owner of Pattern Shop and co-founder of the RiNo Art District.
3.5.16, 3-5 pm: Studio Session: Mono-Print Selfie
3.12.16, 3-5 pm: Artist Talk with William Stoehr titled “The Artist’s Brain – Creativity and the Cubist Search for Essential Reality”.
