“Through my relief prints of overlooked objects, I strive to present a manual form of photography, emphasizing the beauty in the mundane.”
What does your artwork mean to you? My artwork is a form of visual communication that allows me to express my perspectives and connect with others.
What made you want to join Art Gym? I joined Art Gym to immerse myself in the vibrant Denver art community and to have a dedicated space to work on my projects. The collaborative environment and additional space have been invaluable to my creative process.
How has Art Gym helped with your art practice? Art Gym has enhanced my practice by informing me about events and opportunities. Interacting with fellow Art Gym members has sparked numerous new ideas and provided continuous inspiration.
What are you hoping to communicate through your work? As a photographer, I aim to capture compelling images that tell a story. Additionally, through my relief prints of overlooked objects, I strive to present a manual form of photography, emphasizing the beauty in the mundane.
Who and what are some of your biggest artistic influences? In photography, I am inspired by Andreas Gursky. In printmaking, Jack Stauffacher has greatly influenced my work. A quote that resonates with me is by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry: “Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.”
