Fall 2016 Studio Project Award Recipient: Sarah Fukami

Sarah Fukami is an interdisciplinary artist with a strong emphasis in both traditional and non-traditional printmaking techniques. She is currently a 2nd-year resident at Redline and was also recently highlighted in Westword’s “100 Colorado Creatives” profile segment.

Sarah is the recipient of Art Gym Denver’s fall 2016 Studio Project Award. For the past eight weeks Sarah has been working in collaboration with our Printmaking Director to create a new body of work in preparation for an exhibit this winter. Imagery is being generated using many elements within Art Gym including: large-format digital printing, photo plate lithography and screen printing. Her art revolves around the formation of identity and the perception of history, particularly in relation to the immigrant experience.
