Membership ranges from $60-$130/month depending on the membership level that fits your needs – with no long-term contract. Membership operates on a month-to-month basis and can be paused or cancelled according to your needs.

Check the workspace pages (2D Paint/Draw, Encaustic PaintingMixed Media, Metalsmith, Printmaking, Performance Arts, and Digital Arts) for equipment assets.

Art Gym is for artists 18+ who are dedicated to making art and are happy working in a shared environment. Art Gym welcomes both seasoned and emerging artists at all points in their career track. Learn more about membership here or schedule a tour to find out more about us and our space.

No–Art Gym is an alternative to private studio space. Instead of renting a private space, Art Gym members use our open, shared workspaces. You bring your materials with you, set up, and take it home at the end of the day. (We do have some storage options available if you need them though, contact our membership team for details.)

Art Gym is best experienced in person.  Schedule a tour to experience the space for yourself. Tours are offered Monday – Thursday 10PM-7PM, Friday 10AM-4PM and Saturday-Sunday 1PM-6PM.  Schedule a tour, click here.

Yes–you get a small locker included in your membership for small personal items and materials. If you need more than that, we have lockable, rolling work-top carts for $15/month, flat files for $10/ month and open storage shelving for $20/month. We have some large-scale storage available and also provide “works in progress” storage for wet canvasses or other work that needs to dry or is difficult to transport back and forth at no cost, just ask our membership team for details.

No, there is no long-term contract. We do offer discounts if you’d like to pay for your membership up front: 10% off for paying 6 months in advance, 15% off for paying 1 year in advance. Otherwise, Art Gym operates on a month-to-month basis. We allow members to pause or cancel any time with notice.

No, we do not have ceramics.

No, we do not have darkroom photography.

No, Art Gym does not have welding workspace or equipment at this time.

Yes. While Art Gym is not primarily an education facility, we do offer workshops and classes to members and non-members on an occasional basis. Look out for those on our calendar or sign up for our newsletter to be notified. We also allow our members to teach workshops and classes using Art Gym’s facility, so there are classes offered by our members as well. Check out our workshops page for current and upcoming offerings.

Yes. If you are currently enrolled in or have graduated within the past 2 years from an accredited or non-accredited art program, you are eligible for our one year Student Artist Membership level, which is $80/mo.

Yes. We have a small parking lot available to members on a first-come first-serve basis, in addition to plentiful street parking.

Full Access Member hours are Monday – Thursday, 9AM-8PM, Fridays, 9AM-6PM, and Saturday and Sunday, 12-8PM

Part-Time Access Member hours are 12-8PM, Saturdays and Sundays and any choice of one weeknight from 4PM-8PM or Fridays from 2PM-6PM.

Gallery hours (open to the public) are Monday – Friday, 8AM-6PM.

Yes, members can use any of our open workspaces, and work in any discipline-specific area where they’ve completed a safety qualification check on the equipment.

The main gallery exhibits a variety of curated shows as well as juried members-only exhibits throughout the year in both the main Art Gym gallery and Leyden Jar Gallery.

Public calls for entry are announced on our website and in our newsletter, so subscribe if you’re interested in being notified.

If you are a member, you’re eligible to submit work for our juried members-only shows. Details are released via e-mail to members prior to these shows. We also allow members to display their work on the workspace walls, so if you’d like to see some of your work in the Art Gym workspace please contact our gallery curator.

We are a workspace for artists, so we are typically not available as an event space. We do host mission-aligned events for our partners on an occasional basis. If you are part of an organization that you feel aligns with our mission and are interested in developing a partnership with us, please check out our partnerships page or contact our Marketing and Communications Director.

Art Gym is built for complete compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We are wheelchair accessible and our intention is inclusiveness. If your disability requires special arrangements, please speak with our membership team and we will work hard to make sure your needs are cared for.

Art Gym does allow registered service dogs in the facility under ADA rules and regulations. For more information please visit, www.ada.gov/service_animals_2010.htm. Art Gym may request proof of registration for service animals. Pets or emotional support animals are not allowed inside of Art Gym.
