Ingrid vB. Porter is a painter and book-artist who uses transparent layers of acrylics and colored pencil to explore issues that are deeply personal as well as Universal.
“With a background in fine art and archetypal art therapy, I am most interested in imagery that invites the viewer to interact, contemplate, explore. I find the intersection of personal story, mythology and psychology to be a rich, fascinating and rewarding place. My creative process is very much a ‘conversation’ with the Image as it progresses, and I often incorporate metaphor, archetype, fairy tales or mythology into my work. These elements bring new - and often unexpected - layers of meaning to my paintings and illustrated stories.”
